Natural Plane |
Semi-polish Plane |
The treads and raisers of the natural plane porphyry stairs are not fabricated in series but cut and work in conformation with the specifications of the client.
Considering that every pieces is cut form natural and selected slabs, there is a limitation in dimensions, therefore is highly exceptional to obtained stairs that pass the 120 cm of length.
The step borders are calibrated to 2, 3 or 4 cm. to achieve visual uniformity between the different treads, and they are worked with a flamed or polished termination that erase the cut marks.
The standard stairs are built with the natural plane from quarry, respecting the tones of the porphyry that the client used to paving his constructive floor. In this case, there is no work done or alteration to the natural plane of the stone, showing it exactly as nature created it.
In the other hand, in semi-polished stairs, there is a partial polish work done over the plane of the slab, making coexist on each steps different polished and shinny marks with others that remain natural.
This artisanal work –only capable with slabs of extreme durability – promotes the beauty of the stones but without losing the anti slide capacity of the porphyry on its natural state.
